Ever since the announcement dropped at the start of this year that Kamal Haasan and director Shankar would be teaming up again and this time for Indian 2, the excitement levels for the film shot up instantly. To be jointly produced by Lyca Productions and A. M. Rathnam, this sequel to the 1996 blockbuster, Indian, includes Kajal Aggarwal playing the female lead with music by Anirudh Ravichander, Ravi Varman for the cinematography and art direction by T. Muthuraj.
With Kamal Haasan and Shankar reuniting once again after a gap of 22 years, there are now reports suggesting filming on Indian 2 will begin ilming from the first week of January 2019 at Chennai after which the crew will head for Pollachi. In addition, it is also being stated that the team will then head to Ukraine in Eastern Europe to shoot key sequences.
Indian 2 is set to be an important film for Kamal Haasan and Shankar; both of whom will be wanting to wrap it up as quickly as possible before the former enters into politics full time while the latter will be looking to deliver yet another mega success similar to his 2.0 starring ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth released last month.
