A film that created instant excitement upon its announcement, Indian 2, will see the reunion of actor turned politician Kamal Haasan and director Shankar. The duo are coming back together once again after a gap of 23 years when their Indian released in 1996 went on to become a massive blockbuster. That said, eight-time National Award-winning editor Sreekar Prasad, who will be working with director Shankar for the first time, recently revealed in an interview that principal photography and major production works will kick off soon in the days ahead and that only the formal pooja had taken place a few months back. He added that he had met Shankar a few times to discuss about the film and is set to proceed as per plans.
Indian 2 being produced under the Lyca Productions banner will see Kajal Aggarwal playing the female lead with the supporting cast also featuring names like Delhi Ganesh, Yogi Babu among others. The upcoming film’s music is being composed by Anirudh Ravichander along with Ravi Varman handling cinematography and production design by T. Muthuraj. Expectations for Indian 2 have been sky-high ever since the news of Kamal Haasan and Shankar reuniting was made official along with the announcement of the core technical team.
