Kalavani is a rural romantic comedy released in 201, starring Vemal and Oviya in the lead roles. The movie was a sleeper hit at that time and had a separate kind of fan base. It was announced a while ago that a sequel of the movie is being made with the same leads. Kalavani 2 also features RJ Vigneshkanth, Saranya Ponvannan and others in supporting roles. Directed by A. Sarkunam, the movie is produced by himself under the banner Varmans Productions.Now, we had earlier announced that Kalavani 2 is releasing on June 28, but the release date has been pushed to July 5th. The reasons for the postponement are still unknown.
The songs of Kalavani 2 are composed by Mani Amudhavan, V2, V. Ronald Regan and the background music is scored by Natarajan, editing is handled by Raja Mohammed, and lyrics are penned by Vivekha and Arun Bharathi. Kalavani 2's trailer was released in April and gathered over 2 Millions. A week ago, one of the song's lyrical video was released by the makers of the movie. But the lyrical video of the song "Ottaram Pannatha" has over 1.2 million views, that was released in October, 2018.
Vimal has C.S AMudhan's Rendavathu padam in his kitty and Oviya will be seen in an extended cameo role in Aarav's Raaja Bheema.
