Director Sundar. C has made a penchant for delivering comedy films unlike any of his contemporaries in the Tamil film industry on a consistent basis. The sequel to his 2012 smash hit, Kalakalappu, titled Kalakalappu 2 produced under the Avni Cinemax banner with music by Hiphop Tamizha is generating a lot of buzz ahead of its release this Friday.
Coming out on February 9, Kalakalappu 2 has Jiiva, Jai, Mirchi Shiva, Catherine Tresa and Nikki Galrani in lead roles followed by an array of supporting cast members namely Sathish, Yogi Babu, Robo Shankar, Ramdoss, Vaiyapuri, Manobala, Singampuli, VTV Ganesh, Santhana Bharathi, Kaajal Pasupathi, Madhusudhan Rao, and Radharavi signifying the film will aim to live up to its predecessor.
That said, Shiva revealed that during the film's shooting, there was a scene which had him seated on a bicycle and Manobala riding it. The scene demanded that the veteran comedian not be wearing his spectacles and he obliged as soon as the director called in for the shot. Hilarity however is said to have followed when Manobala kept asking Shiva for directions since he could not see properly as he was not wearing his spectacles. A terrified Shiva retorted saying he could have found a better time to ask this and especially when riding a cycle on a terrace. Luckily for them, they only wobbled near the edge of the terrace and the whole incident is now claimed by Shiva as his most dangerous stunt scene in his life.
We can be sure the eventual output will too ensue many laughs.
