Legendary Tamil writer and politician Kalaignar Karunanidhi passed away at 6.10pm on 7th August.


Tamil Nadu Government announced that his cremation cannot be done at the respectful Marina Beach due to pending cases at Madras High court. Instead, a two acres of land has been allocated to bury Kalaignar Karunanidhi’s body opposite to Anna University near Gandhi Mandappam which is situated at Guindy, Chennai.


But the decision faced an heavy statewide opposition and Madras High court decided to take up the petition. And the verdict is out and DMK side has won it. Madras High court has ordered to allot space to bury Kalaignar Karunanidhi's body at Marina Beach. And Karunanidhi's family members are having their emotional moment at Rajaji Hall.
