Arjun Reddy, a character that totally burst the bubble of flawlessness, made such an impact on the audience rather than the movie itself. The movie made Vijay Devarakonda land on the audience's mind with a very strong foot. Arjun Reddy showed us that how much of a threshold he can withstand.
Only today, the trailer of the Hindi version of this film, named Kabir Singh has been released and from what it looks like Shahid Kapoor might just be able to achieve what Vijay had after the film’s release.
From the Kabir Singh trailer, it can be inferred that the movie has been made frame to frame, just as Arjun Reddy, though it is a remake. This very reason may pave the way for the movie's success. Be it the alcoholism, the misery, the rage and the arrogance, Shahid Kappoor seem to have performed just the right amount.
Arjun Reddy was mainly about the young adult phase of his life, for which Vijay Devarakonda perfectly fit in. Although in Kabir Singh Shahid managed to look as young as he could, in certain shots during the college portion he looked a bit older. And it is questionable as to how he'd have pulled that off throughout the film.
In Kabir Singh, a known face like Kiara Advani playing the role of Preeti works way more than Shalini Pandey playing the same role in Arjun Reddy, despite it being her debut film. And it is also evident that the song which plays after the first minute of the trailer, manifests that the songs have been changed according to the sensibilities of the audience.
And this creates an immense amount of anticipation as it is. It is nearly impossible to not bring up the comparison between Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh. And hence, the only way to know how much of the character has been retained and how many shades have been added is to wait and watch Kabir Singh on the screens.
