'Superstar’ Rajinikanth, who visited Tuticorin yesterday to meet the victims’ families as well as those injured during the recent Sterlite protests.

During a press meet upon returning to Chennai, Rajinikanth stated certain anti-social elements were behind the violence that get caused during these protests. He then went on say protests will only lead to Tamil Nadu going to the graveyard.


Meanwhile, the director of the upcoming film, Kaala, hitting screens on June 7, has now issued a clarification at a press meet today regarding Rajinikanth’s statements made yesterday.


Pa. Ranjith stated, “I spoke with Rajinikanth and he didn’t mean protests weren’t necessary. He only stated the pain that gets caused when something untoward happens during these protests are big and life-altering in nature. Again, he reaffirmed that certain rights of the people can be acquired through these protests.”
