Years have gone by since Jyothika was first seen in a cameo alongside Ajith in Vaali. She rose to stardom as one of the best performers and now is in the path of acting in amazing movies that speak about women empowerment.

Speaking at the audio launch event of Magalir Mattum, Jyothika said, “I wouldn’t mind if you have to use minimal and glamorous costumes for the heroines. But, create those women with some brain instead of showcasing them as dolls.”

Cinema has a strong impact on youth, she commented and said, “Assume heroines are like your mother, sister, wife or girlfriend who can think and act based on situations. Instead of running after the hero, create characters out of them.” Jyothika’s statement has a lot of credibility to it.

Some notable movies like Thani Oruvan, Maya, Dora, Mozhi and Abhiyum Naanum have had heroines play strong roles. Maybe, the directors are listening this time and change things for good.
