Valmiki is the official Telugu remake of the 2014 blockbuster Jigarthanda, for which the shooting is currently being held at Hyderabad. Bobby Simha’s role is being reprised by Varun Tej in the Telugu version. The writer and director of Allu Arjun's Duvvada Jagannadham, Harish Shankar is helming the film.
With Atharvaa Murali reprising Siddharth’s role, Pooja Hegde is playing the leading lady. It was earlier rumored that Laxmi Menon herself was supposed to be taking up the role. It was announced a few days ago that the post production will be completed by July, with most of the talkie portions being shot already by now. And sources close to us say that Valmiki's relase date has been sealed by the makers of the film. This gangster comedy flick will be in theatres on September 6.
Bollywood cinematographer Ayananka Bose will crank the camera for Valmiki, with Devi Sri Prasad's music. Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta are jointly producing the film. On June 5th, the director Harish Shankar announced that the pre-teaser of Valmiki will be soon released.
