When the internet boom became huge, most traditional means of promotions and business took a huge blow. Television rights was one among them as for the past couple of years hardly any Tamil movies were purchased by television channels for a record price.
Years since the concept of big festival movies and Sunday matinee shows became obsolete, the idea is picking steam again. In the lines of big budget films like Mersal and Vivegam that were already sold for undisclosed rates to top televisions, two movies that showcase the sheer hard work the team put in has been sold.
Ivan Thanthiran is a comeback film in which Gautham Karthik and director Kannan proved their talent with a great script combined with an impressive screenplay. Zee TV had bagged the rights for the movie while the team of youngsters and you tubers led by Aadhi had won the hearts of many. Meesaya Murukku television rights were purchased by Sun TV for a record price and both films will be broadcasted on a special occasion this year probably.
