Actress Amala Paul has had a rather interesting career in which she has met with several ups and downs over the years. Despite only two releases last year - Bhaskar Oru Rascal and Ratsasan - the latter ended up becoming a huge success both critically and commercially. She is at present attached to Adho Andha Paravai Pola and Aadai in Tamil and Aadujeevitham, Parannu Parannu and her own bilingual production venture, Cadaver. Among them, her Aadai, directed by Meyaadha Maan fame Rathna Kumar is set for a release this year with the film’s much-awaited teaser now out and can be watched below the screenshots.

Aadai has been one of the most anticipated films among Amala Paul’s fans especially after the film’s first look poster went on to trend virally across social networking forums. The film's first look, which showed Amala Paul in torn attire and under a captive state in an undisclosed location went on to receive a sensational response leaving many curious regarding the plot as well as the popular actress’ role.

Rathna Kumar is venturing into thriller genre with Aadai after a highly successful debut with the rom-com Meyaadha Maan in 2017, starring Vaibhav, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Indhuja Ravichandran and Vivek Prasanna in the lead roles and went on to charm audiences everywhere. Produced by Viji Subramaniam under the V Studios banner, Aadai has music by Pradeep Kumar with cinematography by Vijay Karthik Kannan, editing by Shafique Mohammed Ali has been billed to be an “arrogant, audacious and artistic” film.
