Kamal Haasan and director Shankar teaming up for Indian 2 was no doubt one of the biggest announcements of this year. The sequel to the 1996 blockbuster, Indian, will be produced under the Lyca Productions banner with Kajal Aggarwal playing the female lead, Anirudh Ravichander scoring the music and ace cameraman Ravi Varman handling the cinematography.

A while back, it was announced that filming on Indian 2 would kick-off from December 14, but it seems there has been a slight and an unexpected delay. According to reports doing the rounds, 2.0 art director, T. Muthuraj, who is also part of Vijay’s Thalapathy 63 is working on the set work for Indian 2 with production now apparently planned to begin only after three weeks and sometime before the first week of January 2019. Although no release date is set yet, it is believed both Kamal Haasan and Shankar will be wanting to complete the film in quick time and get it out in theatres in the next year itself.
