A highly anticipated film already, Indian 2 will see Kamal Haasan and director Shankar reunite once again after a gap of 22 years. To be produced under the Lyca Productions banner with music by Anirudh Ravichander and Ravi Varman for the cinematography, the upcoming sequel to the 1996 blockbuster, Indian, includes Kajal Aggarwal playing the female lead.
With production expected to kick-off from December 14, Kamal Haasan has now reportedly stated Indian 2 will be his final film considering his Makkal Needhi Maiam political party will be contesting in the 2019 Parliamentary elections. This will no doubt come as a disappointing news for fans of the ‘Ulaganayagan’ as it is unknown at this point whether the four-time National Award winner will be seen in films thereafter. Meanwhile, followers of the acclaimed veteran thespian are raring to see him in action on the political front and expect him to deliver big time next year in his campaign.
As for Indian 2, it must be noted the film will be Kamal Haasan's second sequel after Viswaroopam 2, which released earlier this year.
