One of the biggest pop culture properties, He-Man, went on to become a global phenomenon in the beginning of the 1980s and had its popularity soaring upwards during the 1990s too.

Introduced to the world in the form of an action figure in 1982 by Mattel, He-Man was soon developed into an animated TV series under the title He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in 1983 and ran till 1985 with the show going on to garner a massive fan following across the world since then.

Hardcore He-Man fans will know that a film on the character titled Masters of the Universe was released in 1987, which ended up being a box office failure. Since then, many have wanted to watch yet another film come to reality with talks getting bigger over the past few years.

That said, earlier in January, a new Masters of the Universe film was confirmed to be under development by Sony and Mattel with writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway revealed to be in final talks to write the script for the film, which will be directed by Aaron and Adam Nee.

Now, a production date is said to have been finalized for Masters of the Universe with filming revealed to begin from the middle of July in Prague at Czech Republic with plans to wrap it up within this year itself.

Although no cast and release date has yet been announced for Masters of the Universe, fans will no doubt feel mighty happy that a film is finally on track after years of waiting.
