Gowri Munjal opposite Mammootty

Popular Tamil-Telugu-Kannada actress Gowri Munjal will be Malayalam super star Mammootty's heroine�in his forthcoming investigative thriller Palery Manikyam, directed by Ranjit. This is the first time Gowri Munjal is acting in Malayalam.

The actress recently held a press meet in Bangalore, said she is very proud to be Mammootty’s heroine and�looks forward to do more meaningful cinema in the future.

Debuting with power star Puneeth Rajakumar's Kannada film Namma Basava, Gowri has acted in Allu Arjun’s Telugu hit Bunny and Kannada films including Gandana Mane opposite Shivarajakumar and�Jaaji Mallige opposite Ajay.

Produced by A.V. Anoop and Subair under the banner of AVM Productions and Varnachithra Big Screen, Palery Manikyam is based on a famous novel 'Palery Maanikyam - Oru Paathira Kolapathakathinte Katha' by T.P. Rajeevan, first published in Mathrubhumi as a weekly serial. It revolves around a village girl Manikkam, who is brutally raped and murdered on the 11th day of her marriage.

In this flick, Mammootty plays a dual role: as the CBI officer, who re-investigates the case in 2009 and a feudal Muslim landlord who lived in the 50's and was involved in the crime.
