When Yennai Arindhaal came out in 2015, the action thriller not only went on to become a smash success at the box office, but spurred conversations of a sequel.

Directed by Gautham Menon, Yennai Arindhaal had Ajith and Arun Vijay in a breakout role along with Trisha, Anushka Shetty and Parvatii Nair as the female leads with foot-tapping music from Harris Jayaraj.

Although there have been rumblings of a sequel and GVM frequently suggesting he would want to make one, we now have a confirmed statement from the man himself, who is at present busy with his two upcoming projects - Dhruva Natchathiram with Vikram and Enai Noki Paayum Thota with Dhanush.

Gautham Menon has now revealed he is going to approach 'Thala' Ajith in around five months time with a proper and complete script for the film now being tentatively called Yennai Arindhaal 2.

As for the plot, Gautham Menon had spoken a while back about how he would want to explore the relationship between Ajith and his daughter, who will now have grown up a bit in Yennai Arindhaal 2 without it being violent and focus more on the emotional aspects.

Looks like it’s now going to be a waiting game for us all.
