Gautham Menon on Kulir 100

On December 15th, Kulir 100’s audio was launched by Gautham Menon. Eminent editor Lenin was given the first audio CD of Kulir 100. It looks like this is the season of innovations in audio launches. Recently, TN 07 AL 4777 broke theusual procedureof screening songs at audio launches by holding a dance show in which brilliant dancers danced to two of the film’s songs. At Kulir 100’s audio launch, various playback singers sang the film’s songs and bewitched the audience with their brilliant improvisation. All this made the show even livelier. When Anitha Udeep began to sing, she elicited a huge cheer from the crowd that was overwhelmed with her multiple talents.

Otherguests at the event included Srikanth, Prakashraj, Srikanth Deva, Deva, Jai, Sabesh, Murali, Abhirami Ramanatha, Sivasakthi Pandian and Sony BMG Nandhini.

While Gautham Menon spoke, he appreciated the film’s producer-director Anitha Udeep effusively. He also announced that he is extremely happyKollywood has gained another female director with the advent of Anitha Udheep. Speaking of the film, he lauded its concept and particularly the camera work of L.K. Vijay.

Editor Lenin proudly announced that Anitha Udeep is the sixth female director he is working with. Remarking that this is a welcome change in Kollywood, he added that Anitha has a very good eye for detail and sheis “a storehouse of brilliant ideas”. Like Gautham, he also appreciated the cinematographic skillsof L.K. Vijay.

Well, Kulir 100 will definitely be a turning point in L.K. Vijay’s career. This erstwhile assistant of Aravind Krishna has played with colours in this film: some scenes are misty, some are vibrant in colours, and others tinted with colours reflecting the mood.

Of late, Kollywood has taken a very big stride towards excellence in cinematography. All this with the limited technology available to it! Imagine what it will be able to do the day it gets the best in the industry.

PS: Anitha Udeep is also a popular playback singer in Tamil and Telugu films. She is best remembered for ‘Azhagiya Asura’ from Whistle.
