Actor Kamal Haasan last week finally made the announcement his fans across the state had been waiting for.

The 'Ulaganayagan' shared the news that he would be announcing the name of his political party on February 21 along with kicking off his political tour from the residence of former President, the late APJ Abdul Kalam in Rameswaram in Ramanathapuram district, which incidentally is also Kamal Haasan's native.

Kamal yesterday met at his Alwarpet residence members of his fan clubs hailing from Dindugal, Madurai, Ramanathapuram and Sivagangai from where plans to continue his political journey next month after he commences it in Rameswaram.

Several banners and posters were seen featuring images of Kamal Haasan along with social reformer Periyar and the architect of the Indian Constitution B. R. Ambedkar.

It must be noted that Kamal in his weekly column in a popular Tamil magazine last week stated Tamil Nadu should not be the only state where Dravidianism should be relegated and all South Indian states need to embrace the ideologies. By doing so, the Centre will listen to the voices of the four Chief Ministers.

Meanwhile, Kamal had reportedly called on leaders of his fan clubs from the remaining 27 districts today to construct plans for the future of the party as well as sketch out the political tour starting next month.
