Maverick filmmaker Mani Ratnam is currently busy with the pre-production works of his dream project, Ponniyin Selvan, based out of the historical epic novel with the same name, penned by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. The preparatory works for this historical biggie are on full throttle and we might expect this film to go on floors by the end of this year. The latest update about this film is that the screenplay is penned by popular actor Elango Kumaravel. Kumaravel also has films like Payanam, Uppu Karuvaadu, Kaatrin Mozhi, Kurangu Bommai, and the recent Sarvam Thaala Mayam to his credit.
