Superstar Rajinikanth has started shooting for his next film, Darbar from today (April 10) and the first look poster of the film was released yesterday morning on Twitter. The poster became an instant viral material that satisfied the majority of the legendary star's fans. Directed by A.R.Murugadoss and produced by Lyca, Darbar has music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Santosh Sivan. This will be his 167th film and the talks are said to be on for his next though an official announcement is yet to be made.

Rajinikanth's favourite and superhit director K.S.Ravikumar met him yesterday morning before the actor left to Mumbai for the shooting of Darbar. This meeting lead to the rumours that he will helm Thalaivar 168. A section of the audience also believed that the film could be the sequel of Padaiyappa. However, when we checked with the Padaiyappa director, he denied the rumours to be baseless. He said, "It was a very casual meeting with him. We regularly meet on and off, but this time, the gap became longer and hence we decided to meet at once.

Since he was leaving for Mumbai that evening, I met him in the morning. It was a friendly meeting only."  Co-incidentally, their combo's blockbuster film, Padaiyappa completes 20 years as of today and the film still stands to be one of the best ever commercial films. For now, it looks like nothing is finalized for Thalaivar 168 and we will have to wait for few more days. Kalaippuli S Thanu also met Rajinikanth on the same day and it was believed that he would bankroll that project. This part of the rumour is yet to be clarified. Stay tuned.
