Debutante director Kamal Subramaniam has expressed that it is a huge loss for the Tamil film industry that Captain Vijayakanth is not seen in films. The director's debut flick Marumugam starring Daniel Balaji and Preethi Das in lead roles is a crime thriller. Kamal revealed that it is the dream of every student from the film institute to direct Vijayakanth, but due to his political entry, he is not seen in films. However, he hopes to direct him someday soon.
