A film that has seen massive controversy over the past few days, E4 Entertainment’s Varmaa, starring Dhruv Vikram and Megha Chowdhury in lead roles with Raiza Wilson and Easwari Rao in supporting roles was shelved completely after it was shot under National Award-winning filmmaker Bala’s direction.

Varmaa marks ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram’s son, Dhruv Vikram’s acting debut in Tamil and is an official remake of the Telugu blockbuster, Arjun Reddy, which had Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles.

Meanwhile, post the controversial decision of producer Mukesh R. Mehta’s decision to drop Varmaa completely, it has now been confirmed that Bollywood actress Banita Sandhu will be playing the heroine in the film that will be reshot opposite Dhruv Vikram and an official statement on the same is expected to be made soon.

It must be noted Banita Sandhu previously starred in the critically acclaimed hit Hindi film, October, opposite Varun Dhawan, last year.
