With so many big releases up ahead, a meeting of the Release Regulation Committee and the producers of the respective films was called by the Tamil Film Producers Council. Considering the festival season to be productive, none of the producers were prepared to back out of their initial plans to get their films on the set dates. As as result, the TFPC issued a statement declaring there are no restrictions on the release of any film in the upcoming Christmas weekend as well as for the Pongal holidays when multiple films including Rajinikanth’s Petta, Ajith’s Viswasam, STR’s Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven and RJ Balaji’s LKG have been announced to be coming out.

Meanwhile, with Silukkuvarpatti Singam hitting screens in another two weeks, actor and producer Vishnu Vishal in a series of tweets on Twitter voiced out his opinion on the ongoing issue stating he is sure TFPC President and actor Vishal isn’t responsible for the current scenario and that there is politics involved within. He further went on to question if this was the manner justice gets served to the people who try to follow the rules while also reminding everyone that this is the second instance he is facing such a plight and queried as to why there were rules at all. In conclusion, the Ratsasan star went on to stand firm by his decision to bring out his upcoming rural cop entertainer on December 21.
