Actor Madhavan was last seen in Tamil cinema in 2017 in the action thriller, Vikram Vedha alongside Vijay Sethupathi, which went on to become a box office as well as critical success. The star has since been working alongside Simran on his directorial debut, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, a biopic on former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Space Research Organisation, Nambi Narayanan, who was accused of espionage. With Madhavan recently wrapping up production on Rocketry, it has now been announced that the Irudhi Suttru actor will next be heading to Bollywood once again and this time alongside debutant actress Khushali Kumar in a film titled Dahi Cheeni.

To be directed by newcomer Ashwin Neal Mani, Dahi Cheeni will see Madhavan return to Bollywood after a gap of nearly 4 years when he starred in Tanu Weds Manu: Returns, alongside Kangana Ranaut, which incidentally was the sequel to the 2011 hit, Tanu Weds Manu. Khushali Kumar is the daughter of T-Series’ music label’s founder Gulshan Kumar, who are incidentally producing Dahi Cheeni. Filming is expected to kick off soon and we can expect a statement in the days ahead regarding the rest of the cast and crew.
