Last week, reports surfaced about actor Vikram being the prime contender to star in the Tamil remake of the hit Malayalam film, The Great Father, which featured Mammootty and Arya in lead roles.

The reports further stated The Great Father would also be made in Telugu with superstar Venkatesh in the lead role.

With word regarding Tamil superstar Vikram’s involvement being lapped up enthusiastically by fans, sources close to the National Award-winning actor have now revealed to us exclusively that all such reports are false and are just baseless rumors.

Meanwhile, 'Chiyaan' Vikram is currently working on Saamy Square, the sequel to his 2003 blockbuster, Saamy, alongside Keerthy Suresh as the female lead under Hari’s direction.

Vikram also has in his lineup the highly anticipated action spy thriller, Dhruva Natchathiram, under Gautham Menon’s direction.

The acclaimed star also was announced not long back to be part of Mahavir Karna, a Rs. 300 crore project, to be helmed by RS Vimal of the hit Malayalam film fame, Ennu Ninte Moideen.

In addition, Vikram was also announced to be part of Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International production venture alongside Akshara Haasan and under Rajesh M. Selva’s direction.
