The year is 2010 and Trisha delivered a spectacular performance in Gautham Menon's romantic blockbuster, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. After starring in numerous roles since VTV's release, fans were waiting to see the actress take up with yet another powerful role. And, that is when the romantic drama, 96 opposite 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi came about last year. The rest is history from that point on as her performance went on to be declared as one of the finest in her illustrious career.
Likewise, yet another highly popular name across south India is Samantha Akkineni, who eventually landed the role of Trisha's character for the Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa remake in Telugu titled Ye Maaya Chesave under GVM's direction. And, like her predecessor, the actress lived up to the expectations and went on to receive accolades for her performance, which incidentally was her debut in the world of cinema.
Now, she is once again set to reprise Trisha's character in the upcoming Telugu remake of 96 opposite Sharwanand and under Premkumar's direction, which will include music by Govind Vasantha.
As expected, there will be massive expectations for the film as well as Samantha's performance. That said, being a seasoned performer herself, we can be sure the actress will live up to what is being anticipated from her as she has come out with flying colors in each of her roles in the past. It's all now a waiting game and, let us wait and watch.
