Ever since it was announced that actor Arya would be hosting a Tamil reality show titled Enga Veetu Maapilai, the news was received with a mixed feedback owing to the content the show is emphasizing on.

We had last week reported how the Enga Veetu Maapilai team ran into trouble from women activists when the showrunners decided to shoot few portions at one of the contestant’s homes.

That being said, a case has now been filed against the show by Janakiammal, a member of the Southern Districts Women Federation and Adi Thamilar Peravai in the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court.

In her petition, Janakiammal states the show’s hosts Arya and Sangeetha are misleading women and the show portrays the female gender in a poor light at a time when they are scaling heights in all walks of life.

Reportedly, an interim ban on the show has been sought and have requested the court to take necessary action against Arya, Sangeetha and the Colors Tamil TV channel.
