Watching movies online have become a habit of the current generation with the help of some OTT platforms that are in the market and people prefer to watch a movie from the comfort of their home for free than paying money and going to a theatre. Movies are out on the online movie platform even after a few days from its initial release. The advancement in technology is also a boon as it is affecting the business of film producers and distributors.

And now, Telugu Film Producers Council has decided when a movie can be released on a digital platform. According to reports, the Council has decided that the producers in Tollywood can sell the digital as well as satellite rights of a movie only with an agreement that the TV premiere or OTT premiere will happen only after eight weeks of the theatrical release of a movie. That is a movie can only be aired on television or online streaming site only after 56 days from the date of release. The new norms will come to effect from April 1.

The move has been widely welcomed by many in the industry and are feeling that the move will help movies to have a long run at the theaters. This change will hopefully be made in other film industries too so that the growth of films in theatres can be boosted. The audience should more and more go to a cinema hall and watch a movie to get the complete feel of it.
