A massive film in the making, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s Bigil announced to be a Diwali release in October is being directed by Atlee with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman. It was only a few days back when it was revealed that Vijay has sung a song titled "Verithanam" in Bigil, leaving fans everywhere mighty excited. That said, a rough version of a song titled "Singapenne" sung by A. R. Rahman with lyrics penned by Vivek was leaked online yesterday (July 16) and was revealed to be from the upcoming film. In the midst of this, actress Kasturi Shankar took a sarcastic jab at the leaked song on Twitter page saying it is reminiscent to the songs that have come out before and only the Bigil (whistle) sound is the new addition. She concluded saying the song is still good to listen to.
Being billed as an action sports entertainer, there are tremendous expectations surrounding Bigil ever since it rolled into production earlier this year with Vijay set to appear in dual roles as father and son in the same time period in the story. A multistarrer, the film’s shooting is racing towards the finish line and also includes Nayanthara playing the female lead, Kathir, Vivek, Jackie Shroff, Indhuja, Daniel Balaji, Anandaraj, Yogi Babu, Varsha Bollamma, Amritha Iyer, Soundararaja, Devadarshini, ‘Thaadi’ Balaji, Dheena among others in major supporting roles.
