A film that has been long-awaited by Anushka Shetty’s fans, Bhaagamathie finally arrived on screens yesterday.

Fans have been eagerly waiting with bated breath to watch 'Sweety' Anushka Shetty on the big screen since last year’s blockbuster, Baahubali: The Conclusion.

Bhaagamathie, which was written before the first Baahubali film came out, had began filming only last year after Anushka committed herself to a number of projects since 2012, says the film’s director G. Ashok.

He also went on to reveal recently that he arrived at the Bhaagamathie title for the film from the Bagmati river flowing through Nepal. He added that the name is from our own ancient times and that Hyderabad went on to be formed in the name of Bhagamathi or Bhagi Nagara.

Produced under the UV Creations, Abi & Abi Pictures and Studio Green banners with music by S. Thaman, Bhaagamathie features Anushka Shetty leading the cast along with Jayaram, Unni Mukundan, Asha Sarath, Thalaivasal Vijay among others in vital supporting roles.
