We had reported few days back that actor Karthi is currently filming his upcoming next titled Kadai Kutty Singam being produced by his brother Suriya’s 2D Entertainment banner under Pandiraj’s direction. Few days back, a Rekla race sequence was shot for the film being planned for an April release featuring actors Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sayyeshaa and Arthana Binu as the female leads.
That being said, the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has now issued a notice to the makers of Kadai Kutty Singam asking how they conducted the race without their approval. As of now, a reply is awaited from the producers while the Board is said to be planning to bring the issue to the notice of the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary and DGP of the state.
On the contrary, there are some reports stating 2D Entertainment did approach the AWBI for their permission to organize the sequence in the film and that they decided to pursue with the Rekal race despite a denial on their request. However, only a few scenes are said to have been shot for the race conducted by the State Rekla Federation, who apparently had gotten permission from the concerned government officials. We will now have to wait to see how this story further develops.
