Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has established himself to be one of most distinguished talents in Indian cinema over the years with his films that includes works like Black Friday, Dev.D, Gangs of Wasseypur movies, Ugly, Raman Raghav 2.0 while also helming last year’s hit, Lust Stories.

The acclaimed director had also showed exceptional skills as an actor by making his debut in Tamil as the antagonist in the Nayanthara, Atharvaa and Raashi Khanna starrer, Imaikkaa Nodigal, with his performance going on to be hailed by fans and critics.

Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap has been a subject of controversy over the past few days after the director took to his Twitter page to post a comment his daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap had received on her Instagram page.

In his tweet, he congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon being re-elected for a second term and questioned him for the lack of women’s safety on social media after the rape threat was issued to his daughter.

Anurag Kashyap’s complaint on the social networking forum was soon taken up by the Mumbai Police, who have now reportedly filed a FIR on the said individual under sections 504, 509 of Indian Penal Code and 67 of Information Technology Act.

The director once again took to his Twitter page for the swift action to thank the Mumbai Police including the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for enforcing immediate action based on his complaint.

On the professional front, Anurag Kashyap is at present directing the second season of the hit web series thriller, Sacred Games, which will see Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pankaj Tripathi reprising their roles alongside new cast members Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey among others.
