Anjali more cautious after Angadi Theru

Director Vasanthabalan's recent release Angadi Theru is receiving rave reviews from every corner. Movie critics and audiences insist the movie is a moving narrative of the struggles and lives of a group of sales girls and boys in Chennai's shopping central Ranganathan street. In a recent interview, the director even revealed that he spent six months prior to the pre-production work of the movie, secretly shooting the goings on of the street, its workers and its visitors. Walking in their midst and getting into the depths of their life, Vasanthabalan came up with the story of Angadi Theru that has touched so many lives.

For actress Anjali who plays the female lead, Angadi Theru has changed her outlook on life and also her dreams in cinema. The actress, who did quite a memorable role in her debut film Katradhu Tamil, ended up signing on for highly commercialized films and glam roles, not wanting to wait too long forserious roles to come by. However, Angadi Theru has given her a fresh new perspective.

Katrdhu Tamil got me a good name. But doing movies like that takes months of your time. I was worried that if I kept on doing such movies, audiences will forget about me and hence signed on for masala films that required me to go glamorous. But with Angadi Theru, I have gained the respect of my colleagues and the audience. I've got my priorities right now. After I complete the movies that I have already signed, I have decided to take things slowly and do only roles with substance,” reveals Anjali.
