Leading Tamil director-actor Ameer has lodged a complaint at the Chennai Commissioner’s Office against Studio Green owner and producer Gnanavelraja for allegedly cheating him.

In his complaint, Ameer said that Gnanavelraja, who produced Paruthiveeran, dubbed the film in Telugu without his knowledge and cheated him by not paying the royalty.

"I started Paruthiveeran after several years of writing the script and introduced Suriya’s brother Karthi in the lead. At that time Gnanavelraja stepped in and wanted to produce the movie under his banner Studio Green. Halfway through, he wanted to back out from the project due to the debacle of Suriya starrer Sillunnu Oru Kaadhal, which he released. I did not want my magnum opus to get jinxed and I stepped in as a producer through my home banner Team Work Production and completed the movie, releasing its audio with great difficulty," the director said adding that Gnanavel interfered at this point of time, claiming the rights for the movie as a producer.

Notably, the film was a super duper hit and bagged two national awards. It also bagged several international accreditations. "Under these circumstances, I was shocked to know that Gnanavel has given an ad in a Telugu newspaper and is planning to release the dubbed version of Paruthiveeran on March 2. As per the Writers Association, I am entitled to get 25% as royalty for writing Paruthiveeran," he added.
