Item girl Alphonsa, who was seen in a number of item numbers in Telugu and Tamil film, was rushed to Vadapalani Vijaya hospital in Chennai following a suicide attempt at her residence.
It is reported that she consumed sleeping pills in excess in an attempt to end her life and was found by her family in an unconscious condition. The actress' condition is stable now and she is expected to be discharged in a few days.
The actress is said to be in a relationship with her friend Vinod Kumar and both were staying at her apartment. She had a bitter fight with him before he hanged himself to a ceiling fan at their residence on Sunday. This is believed to be the reason behind her suicide attempt.
"For some reason Vinod and Alphonsa were quarrelling the whole night and their bedroom lights were on till the wee hours on Monday morning,” says a source. However, when she woke up, she found Vinod hanging from the ceiling.
