Akshay Kumar is one of the biggest and busiest stars in the nation at present.

Lovingly called by fans as Akki or Khiladi, he will be making his Tamil film debut in Rajinikanth’s sci-fi action thriller, 2.0, reportedly set for an April release.

His first film of 2018 in Bollywood is the biopic Padman, releasing on February 9 and is said to be based on Tamil Nadu-based social activist, Arunachalam Muruganantham.

Akshay Kumar’s film lineup also includes the sports biopic Gold, which will tell the story of hockey player Balbir Singh Sr., who was part of the team that won the first Olympic medal for India as a free nation in 1948.

There’s also Mogul, a film based on the life of the Late Gulshan Kumar, who was the founder of the T-Series music label as well as a Bollywood movie producer. Although there have been conflicting reports stating Akshay has walked out of the film, no official word has come out regarding his departure as yet and we believe he is still in line to portray the role.

In addition, the Rustom star also announced he would be part of Kesari, a film based on the Battle of Saragarhi, which reportedly comprised of 21 Sikh soldiers who were attacked by around 10,000 Afghans.

Then, there’s the long pending Crack with director Neeraj Pandey of Special 26, Baby and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story fame, which is yet to flag off production.

With such a busy schedule up ahead, reports have now surfaced stating Akshay Kumar is going to star in the Bollywood remake of Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana franchise.

If he does sign up for the speculated project, it will be after a decade that he will be starring in the remake of a south Indian film with his last being Bhool Bhulaiyaa in 2007, a remake of Mohanlal’s Manichitrathazhu in Malayalam, which was also remade in Tamil as Chandramukhi with Rajinikanth.
