Aishwarya Rajesh's Kanaa, which came out in December 2018, marked the debut production venture of actor Sivakarthikeyan. It was also actor, lyricist and singer Arunraja Kamaraj's first film as a director. This cricket-based film starred Sathyaraj and Darshan in the supporting roles with Dhibu Ninan Thomas scoring the music. The film fetched positive reviews from the audience and the critics, thereby emerging as a successful venture at the box office.

Following the big success of Kanaa, the film was announced to be remade in Telugu with Aishwarya Rajesh reprising the same lead role. The makers have now released a new song from the film and it is called Muddabanthi. This is the Telugu version of the Tamil song, 'Othaiyadi Pathaiyila', sung by Anirudh Ravichander in Kanaa.

Muddabanthi is crooned by Yazin Nazir with lyrics by Krishnakanth. The makers have retained the essence of the original version as you see similar shots and emotions throughout the promo videos. Aishwarya Rajesh is first seen as an innocent young girl from a village backdrop, who later sports the Indian jersey. This remake is titled as Kousalya Krishnamurthy which is directed by Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao.

Dhibu Ninan Thomas has been retained as the music composer, while Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor of the film. Rajendra Prasad will reprise Sathyaraj's character, while Vennela Kishore, Karthik Raju, Jhansi, Rangasthalam Mahesh, form the supporting cast. The song has been released on the official YouTube channel of Sony Music South who owns the film's audio rights. Check out the promo video here:
