Mani Ratnam’s Anjali which released in 1990 is considered as one of the best emotional movies of Tamil Cinema. Actress Shamlee did the title role in the movie when she was 3 years old. She is actually actress Shalini’s sister, so obviously Thala Ajith is her brother-in-law.
Shamlee played as the lead heroine in Vikram Prabhu’s Veera Sivaji. In an interview with Galatta, she has shared few life experiences with us.
She had no idea about national award when she received it at the age of four for Anjali, later she realized the value of the prestigious award. In her adolescent age, she thought that education is important and concentrated in studies. Later, she did a film production course at Singapore with her own money and got interest in acting.
About her brother-in-law Ajith, she said he is a big idol and very down-to-earth person. Also added that there are many things to learn from him.
