Actor Jiiva who was last seen in Sundar C's Kalakalappu 2 is currently working on his next titled Gypsy with director Raju Murugan. The actor has a good line up of movies expected to release this year and now the actor is apparently set to make his Bollywood debut.

According to reports, it is said that the actor has been roped in to play the role of the then Indian opener Krishnamachari Srikkanth in director Kabir Khan’s 83, a retelling of the events that paved the way to India’s first ever world cup win in 1983. It was earlier speculated that actor Allu Arjun and Vijay Deverakonda were associated with this project for this particular role but looks like Jiiva made the cut. It is known that ace actor Ranveer Singh will be portraying the role of Kapil Dev and it is said that the director always had his mind on a Tamil actor playing the role of Srikkanth who is a Tamilian as well.

According to reports, the actor has started the training with player Srikkanth himself personally coaching him every day for 2 hours. His training sessions are expected to be over by February and he’s expected to start shooting for the film from March onwards. Reliance Entertainment, Phantom Films, and Vibri Media are jointly bankrolling the film. Stay tuned for an official word on this!
