A film that has left so many excited with anticipation ever since its announcement, Rajinikanth’s magnum opus, 2.0, was initially slated to arrive on screens last year as a Diwali release.

Directed by Shankar with music by A. R. Rahman under the Lyca Productions banner, 2.0 also starring Akshay Kumar as the antagonist was then rescheduled for a release this year on January 25.

When those plans didn’t materialize, 2.0 featuring Amy Jackson as the female lead was then announced to come out on April 27.

That said, the pending post-production works made the possibility of 2.0 coming out next month less likely and the April 27 release date was in turn allotted for another highly-anticipated Rajinikanth film, Kaala.

In light of no new release date announced for 2.0, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan had interacted with fans on his newly launched Instagram account on the occasion of his birthday.

Aamir went on to state he wasn’t too keen on a clash between his upcoming film, Thugs of Hindostan against Rajinikanth’s 2.0.

The Dangal star hoped his film wouldn’t clash with 2.0 since it could be a problem. He further informed that Rajinikanth is a huge star across the country for whom he has immense respect and adulation.

It must be noted Aamir Khan had not long back explained in detail why such a clash would be bad in terms of business.

He stated India has roughly about 5000 screens and producers of big films would want to get their product in as many screens as possible. So, when another big film enters into the ring, it will affect the producer, who could make considerably more profit if such a big film doesn’t have a big competitor.

Thugs of Hindostan too has a power-packed ensemble star cast featuring names like Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh and, is scheduled for a nationwide release on November 7, 2018.
