One of the most popular names in the country, composer A. R. Rahman has touched success akin to sky-reaching heights.


The 'Mozart of Madras', who tasted a double Oscar win for his score and "Jai Ho" song in Slumdog Millionaire, has gone on to win several accolades since then across the world.


With the 65th National Film Awards announced today, A. R. Rahman has now been conferred with the National Award for Best Music Direction for his work on Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai.


ARR also was announced as the winner of the National Award for Best Background Score in the Sridevi starrer, Mom.


This double National Award victory makes it six wins for A. R. Rahman and takes him past 'Isaignani' Ilaiyaraaja’s five National Award wins.
