That said, 96 was embroiled in an issue yesterday (October 4) where its release was on the verge of getting stalled before the film’s lead star Vijay Sethupathi himself stepped forward to bring it out in theatres by accepting to pay the Rs. 1.5 crores producer Nandagopal owes to actor Vishal.

The issue cropped up when a project involving Vishal and producer Nandagopal, where the actor had made arrangements to help him financially. However, with the producer not being able to pay back the debt with interest, the issue was taken to the Tamil Film Producer Council.

Vishal

That said, Vishal has decided to relieve Vijay Sethupathi off from from such heavy financial pressures considering such a huge financial burden is unbearable and shouldn’t happen to any actor as he personally is going through similar issues.

Vishal

Vishal now has stated he will pay the interest for the amount owed by Nandagopal and will only collect the principal amount of debt from him out of his friendship with Vijay Sethupathi since their bond means a lot more to him than money.
