Gearing up for a thunderous opening on November 29, ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth’s 2.0 directed by Shankar under the Lyca Productions banner with music by A. R. Rahman also includes Akshay Kumar as the antagonist and Amy Jackson as the female lead.

Rajinikanth in 2.0

With the 2.0 trailer launch taking place today, ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth’s speech is as follows:

“I openly say in front of all the national media - 2.0 will become a super duper HIT. Leaving others aside, this movie will succeed for one man - SHANKAR. He has never disappointed the audience and producers. He is a magician, class filmmaker - the Indian version of James Cameron and Steven Spielberg. We need not promote 2.0 any further and put more burden on producer Subaskaran. Already people are waiting for the movie’s release. I'm state this openly now - after watching the movie, audience will become the promoters of 2.0.”

He further added, “After the first few days of shoot, I became unwell and called Shankar and said I will repay the advance amount as I don't think I can do justice considering my health was not okay. But, Shankar stepped down from his vision and I was surprised as made me strong and act in the film. I was very sick after returning from Kabali shooting. My doctors advised me to take rest for four months. When I told this to Subaskaran, he said my health is a lot more important than anything and we'll wait even if it takes 4 years. I felt I got a good friend".

On the release plans fot the film, Rajinikanth stated, "There were several questions over the past few months whether 2.0 wold come and whether it would be good or if the film is going to bomb. The point is, if we are making a film, it should come out in the right manner. I'm sure it will become a massive success. This film will make Indian cinema be looked upon by international audiences. Shankar, Rajamouli and Rajkumar Hirani are the most talented filmmakers in our country and we should all support them.”
