One of the biggest stars in south India and the reigning queen of the Tamil film industry, actress Nayanthara has gone on to accumulate a fan following unlike any other female star in recent years. Lovingly called by her fans as the ‘Lady Superstar’, she has starred opposite almost all top south Indian stars ever since she made her entry in cinema.

That said, today (December 25) is a mighty special day for Nayanthara as she not only celebrates Christmas, but also because the date marks her fifteenth year in cinema after she made her acting debut in 2003 in the Malayalam film, Manassinakkare.

Although her name was Diana Mariam Kuriyan, it was in her debut film, Manassinakkare, that she was rechristened as the Nayanthara we know as of today. Since then, there has been no turning back and she has gone on to deliver memorable performances in numerous films she has starred over the years.

The superstar actress now has a handful of films lined up next that include ‘Thala’ Ajith’s Viswasam, which will kick-off her 2019 followed by the horror thrillers, Airaa and Kolaiyuthir Kaalam (both films in which she will be seen as the lead), Vijay’s Thalapathy 63, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy opposite Chiranjeevi and Vijay Sethupathi in Telugu and, Nivin Pauly’s Love Action Drama in Malayalam.
