Producer CV Kumar's 144 has passed the censor formalities with a clean U certificate. The film has Ashok Selvan, Siva alongside Oviya and Shruthi Ramakrishnan of Aanmai Thavarel fame playing the lead roles. It is heard that the film is inspired from real events. “I’m sure most of us would have come across instances when Section 144 was enforced for a few hours or at the most, a few days. But then, there are rural areas where cops stay permanently to ensure that there is no disagreement between two factions," director Manikandan was quoted saying.
144 is directed by Manikandan with music by Sean Roldan and cinematography being handled by Gurudev and editing done by Leo John Paul. Thirukumaran Entertainment is producing the film in association with Abi & Abi Pictures are jointly producing this film.
