Oru Adaar Love, the movie which shot to popularity with just a simple wink by Priya Prakash Varrier has finally hit the screens on the apt occasion of Valentine’s Day.

This rom-com flick directed by Omar Lulu is co-written by Sarang Jayaprakash and Lijo Panadan and has music by Shaan Rahman. Along with Priya Prakash Varrier, the movie stars Roshan Abdul Rahoof, Noorin Shereef, Siyadh Shahjahan and others. The Tamil Nadu distribution rights were bagged by Kalaipuli S Thanu under his V Creations banner

The story moves around a set of school students and their love life which happens to be the only thing they do. The movie sets off with a Freshers Day event at a school and all the new students at the school seem to have fallen in love at the first moment they see one another inside the campus and the director, Omar Lulu has tried to justify this under the tag ‘Love at first sight’. With so many love affairs happening simultaneously, it makes you wonder if the students have entered a school or a dating site.

The whole plot stretched out by Omar Lulu seems to be implausible as we see all the school kids falling in love and talking about life decisions. The happenings in the story might reflect on the harsh truths of the current generation but the outline itself is not convincing enough to make a connection. The love triangle between the three leads was handled in a good way and the whole story could have been more appealing if the director had plotted it around a college backdrop.

Coming to the first big name of the venture - Priya Prakash Varrier, the performance is somewhat out of line when compared to other characters in the movie and the film holds a disappointment for Priya Prakash Varrier fans as her portions are weak. Roshan, the lead actor is just another character in the movie as nothing much differentiates him from his classmates. The pair that was called a cute couple off screen has failed to work the magic onscreen.

The big positive in the movie is the surprising role of Noorin Sherif who has more screentime than Priya Prakash Varrier. The chemistry between Roshan and Noorin Sherif is made in a beautiful way and manages to make a spark when compared to the love portions between Roshan and Priya Prakash Varrier. Noorin Sherif stays true to her character throughout the movie and stands out from the whole movie with her cute expressions and solid performance.

The songs by Shaan Rahman managed to go through without much distress even in the dubbed version with the help of some decent work by Sinu Sidharth who handled the camera. Achu Vijayan, the editor has also done a decent job delivering the needed, including the gruelling climax portions. Small character roles around the lead actors come and go from time to time giving out dull moments. Some dialogues that have been added for the Tamil audience in the dubbing is okayish but more effort could have been made. The divergent climax might hold an unfavorable surprise for a few.

Verdict: We are not sure whether the students passed their final exams or not, but the movie has definitely failed.
