Venmegam Movie review
Venmegam, starring Vidharth, Ishara Nair, Jagan, Jayashree and Jagadish, is a romantic thriller, directed by Ram Laxman.
The movie revolves around a triangular love story between a simple girl, a middle-class boy, and a rich girl, whose father is a powerful man. With a simple, non-convoluted plot, the movie conveys the purity and serenity as well as the extremity of the feminine gender. As in all love triangles, when one person is scorned for another, the enmity and hatred that they spew becomes unbearable for the other two. A common man trying to take on a corrupt social system has to face a lot of difficulties and that is what our hero faces. Similarly, the fact that no person is a single entity and that one person's fate is dependent on others is shown in the movie. To find out what the struggles of the hero are, who his love interest is, whom he is the love interest of and what all he has to face to achieve his dreams... watch Venmegam in the theatres.
Director Ram Laxman has taken a lot of different themes and woven them into a simple and neat plot. The way he ties up all loose ends is commendable. Vidharth is just fresh off the success of his Veeram, and his performance in this movie is sure to take him to higher places. Jayashree and Ishara Nair impress with their performances, and prove that they are more than just eye candy. Jagan is his usual comic self and Manjari and Rohini play their roles well. The music is pleasing. Director Ram Laxman makes us think in the first half, and sit back and feel in the second half.
Venmegam is a very good attempt and a thoughtful movie from Sujatha Sunitha Combines.
