Thiruttu Payale Movie review
This is the third film of Susi Ganesan of Virumbugiren and Five Star fame. The director having given different flavours in his previous movies, has been successful in giving us another movie which will do well in the box office considering the different theme backed by a well made film.
Manickam (Jeevan) who started his career as a hero in University, and followed it up as a villain in Khaaka Khaaka is the lead performer along with Rosy(Sonia Agarwal) playing the heroine.
Manickam, belongs to a poor family in a village. He does not respect any of his family members, except for his uncle (Inspector played by Vinod Raj) who lives in Chennai. The story gets rolling once he decides to come and stay with his uncle at Chennai.
Once while he is watching people playing golf, he notices Roopini (Malavika) and Santosh (Abbas) having an illegal relationship. He manages to capture the same in his video camera. Roopini is the wife of a rich businessman (Manoj K Jayan).
Manickam blackmails Roopini and extracts money from her whenever he needs. Once he makes a trip abroad to Australia with Roopini’s expenditure. There he happens to meet Rosy. He falls in love with her. Rosy tells him that she is a very rich girl from a respected family. While he decide to propose to her, he finds that she has left the city. He is upset and just at that time, Roopini makes a phone calls and tells him that Rosy was sent by her only to woo Manickam and demand that if he needs Rosy, he needs to hand over the cassette to her.
From that point on does manickam get his love back, or does Roopini her cassette back forms the rest of the story.
Jeevan has done a good job after a long gap. Sonia Agarwal shows lots of glamour to suit the story in the first half and she plays a reformer in the secondhalf. Malavika has given a realistic performance to match the character and is outstanding. It’s a feather in the cap in her acting career. Manoj K Jayan and Abbas have done their parts well. Vivek’s comedy keeps everybody busy in the first half. The director plays the role of a detective agent and is involved in creating a turning point for the story.
Cinematography carried out by debutant Ravishankar is commendable. All scenes have been captured well locally and overseas. Re-recording has been handled well by Barathwaj and is comparable to Hollywood standards. Songs also blend well with the movie.
Director Susi Ganesan has done a good job and handled the screenplay with care. He has beautifully portrayed that money and women illegally attained will never last long. Also, that you can make or break a man in his childhood. Every child is influenced by his parents and those around him in his early age. The movie surely deserves a watch by every cinema enthusiast!
