Tharkaapu Movie review
Fake encounters are always a point of discussion in India. However, in Tamil cinema not many films have addressed the issue. Samuthirakani-Shakthi starrer Tharkaapu, directed by RP Ravi, is a hart hitting cop story that highlights the issue of fake encounters. The film looks like an apt comeback for Shakthi, who plays the role of a cop. Set in Krishnagiri, the film is about the consequences of a murder and revolves around six characters, which includes Vatsan Chakaravarthy and Sathish. A Faber encounter lands Shakthi in trouble and the case is diverted to Samuthirakani, a human rights officer. While F.S. Faisal has composed music, Jones Anand is the cinematographer.
Tharkaapu will definitely leave impact on the viewers and this is not yet another cop story.
Shakthi outshines in his role as a police officer. He pulls off a neat performance.
Young actor Vatsan, who enthralled us in Engeyum Eppodhum, showcases a good performance while Sathish, Amita, and Vaishnavi have done their part well.
Samuthirakani has excelled his part as a human rights officer.
Faizal's BGM and Jones Anand's camera works are in sync with the storyline.
Director RP Ravi has addressed a niche issue through this film.
Newbie in town Ganesh Prasath is a surprise element in the story. He has done his role with ease.
The editing could have been better, especially in the second half.
The flow of the film faces few hiccups in the first half.
A hard hitting cop story with fake encounter drama.
