Kokki Movie review
Kokki is the title of the movie. This story is about the persons and problems faced by the Kokkisamy (Karan) who comes to Chennai for livelihood. Director Prabhu Solomon has made us sit back with the fast moving screenplay which describes how Kokki manages all his problems and comes out of it. Kokki is an ordinary man of few words and a simple nature. He is very faithful to those who show him concern. Kamal Haasan introduced Karan, in the Tamil film industry. In this movie Karan has proved himself through his acting. He has enacted the love and longing scenes most realistically.
Kokki comes to Chennai in search of a job and also for getting a passport and visa to go to Singapore. He knows only one person in Chennai that is Subburaj (Malaysia Vasudevan). Because Suburaj is busy with his job he sends him to Upilliappan (Kotta Srinivasa Rao) who is a strong believer in astrology. He wakes up everyday and the first thing he sees is the picture of God Ayyanar. One day he happens to wake up and sees Kokki first who comes to his house. That day brings him more fortunes.
So Upillliappan’s astrologer advises him to wake up everyday at the sight of Kokki. But Kokki refuses to comply. In between this Kokki gets his passport and visa. Upilli uses his power and urges the local police inspector Masanam (Sakthi Kumar) to bring back Kokki. Masanam traps Kokki on the way to the airport .He lies to him asking him to file a case against Uppilli. Kokki realizes that he is also the servant of Uppilli only when he gets back to the police station.
Kokki escapes from police to take shelter in a College Women's Hostel where he comes across Raji (Sanjana). Raji gives him protectionr. She falls in love with him. Kokki tries to get out of the city. Raji even helps him reach the outskirts of the city. Whether Kokki returns back to his town or not is the climax.
Inspector Masanam (Sakthi Kumar), Telugu villain actor Kotta Srinivasa Rao and Malaysia Vasudevan have done their characters well. New face Sanjana has shown good expressions and performed dance sequences well. Dhina’s music has come out well. “AA... sonna aynavaram....”is sure to be one of the leading hits in Tamil film industry. Jeevan’s cinematography has captured good shots of Chennai.
Solomon has delivered the message in an interesting manner. Kokki would definitely trap everyone’s attention!
